There is a difference between the two services and we help our customers understand this difefrence and how it effects their decision making process when dealing with their valuable collections.

 

Restoration

Books are repaired and made good with attention to a strong and attractive binding with the emphasis on keeping as much of the original design of the book as possible. It is not so important to keep all original material through we try to do this.    

 

Books Conservation & Digitisation

The emphasis with this type of binding is to keep all original material and stabilizing the book so there is no further deterioration. We can also advise on the digitisation of copy and making of facsimile copies because it is a fact of life that the most economical route may be the only way forward to allow access to valuable archive material.

 

Fine Binding

Working with all kinds of materials, our binders can bind to match existing runs, bind traditional styles or design to customer’s specifications. We work with only the highest quality materials and our craftsmen are trained to the highest standards.

Specialist Boxes

Many types of boxes are available and we can make single boxes to runs of 100 or more. Most boxes are designed with a special purpose in mind, so from Solander boxes for valuable books to designer boxes, we work to what you need. For longer runs we will put you in touch with a supplier who will potentially save you money and speed up your order
